Ajith starrer has created a new record in the state as the film is said to have earned Rs 36 crore in Tamil Nadu on the first day.
'Valimai' has occupied almost all the screens in Chennai, and the film got a record number of shows on the first day. Tickets for the first day's film sold out in most theatres, and the film got a monster start. But the film failed to break records at the Chennai city box office, and reportedly earned only Rs 1.8 crore in the capital city.
Can enter 100 crore club in two days

The overall collection report of 'Valimai' is being told more than Rs. 50 crores, and the film is expected to enter the 100 crore club club in a couple of days.
