Hello,

Major changes underway at food delivery giant Swiggy.

Nandan Reddy, Co-founder of Swiggy Limited, will step down from the company’s board to pursue independent ventures. The exit, disclosed in a regulatory filing on Friday, comes as Swiggy reorganises itself in its post-listing phase.

Reddy’s departure is particularly notable. As one of Swiggy’s original founders, he played a key role in shaping the company from its early days in Bengaluru into a nationwide platform spanning food delivery, quick commerce, and dining services.

Moving on to the world of technology, Intel and Google have signed a multiyear collaboration to co-develop and refine the building blocks that power cloud computing and AI systems. The deal means that Google Cloud will continue to use Intel’s Xeon processors across a wide range of workloads, including AI, inference, and general computing.

Earlier in April, Intel said it would join Elon Musk’s chipmaking plan with SpaceX, Tesla and xAI, and that its role would help accelerate a project aimed at producing vast volumes of advanced compute for AI and robotics.

Using tech to bridge rural agri knowledge gapNidhi Bhasin, CEO of Digital Green India, has worked at the intersection of social development, technology, and community-led change.

She is now leading the organisation’s next phase of innovation, where AI and conversational technologies are being layered onto grassroots systems. An example of this is FarmerChat, the organisation’s AI-powered, multilingual advisory platform designed to give smallholder farmers real-time, localised guidance on agriculture, climate practices, and livelihoods. She tells SocialStory why we need to reimagine agricultural extension through technology.

Key takeaways:

  1. Digital Green India has worked with the State Rural Livelihood Missions and Departments of Agriculture and Horticulture across more than nine states, reaching over 5.5 million smallholder farmers, nearly 50% of whom are women.
  2. Before joining Digital Green India, Bhasin served as the CEO of NASSCOM Foundation, where she expanded the organisation’s work in technology for social good.
  3. “Women have always played a central role in agriculture, across cultivation, livestock, and post-harvest work. Yet for generations, they have largely been recognised as labour rather than decision-makers,” she says.

Meta and CoreWeave’s $21B AI deal

Technology major Meta and CoreWeave are expanding their existing relationship, with the Facebook parent committing about $21 billion to buy AI computing capacity from the AI cloud-computing firm. The agreement builds on a 2023 master services contract and, according to CoreWeave’s regulatory filing, runs through late 2032.

AI growth:

  1. AI systems require vast amounts of computing power, often delivered through specialised cloud providers. CoreWeave positions itself as one such provider.
  2. The Meta deal is significant both in scale and in diversification for CoreWeave. The company’s 2025 filing shows it generated about $5.1 billion in revenue, with roughly 67% coming from Microsoft.
  3. The CoreWeave deal is particularly relevant for inference workloads, which are becoming increasingly important as AI systems move from development to everyday use.
